Blend Current and Estate Gifts to Support Students
Gary Clinton ’73
and Don Millinger ’76
When Gary Clinton and Don Millinger planned their gifts to the University, their desire was to ensure their support would align with their beliefs and goals. “We wanted to give to the University of Rochester in a way that made sense for us personally,” said Don.
The couple met at Rochester in the mid-’70s through their pioneering LGBTQ rights and education efforts. Don and Gary recently established a fund that provides new programming and financial assistance for LGBTQ students, and they put the University into their wills to establish the Donald Millinger/Gary Clinton LGBTQ Endowed Fund—which will provide groundbreaking support at the University in perpetuity. “Our hope is that the plan we have put in place will provide support to enable the student to be as fully realized an individual as possible and to be able to make a significant contribution to society and civic engagement,” they said.
Don and Gary believe that alumni can play an active role in shaping a gift that’s important to them and the University.
“Rochester was tremendously good to us. We take a lot of satisfaction in knowing there are students who are going to be better, healthier, and more engaged for generations because of our gifts.” |
