Paying It Forward with Purpose

Anne Moore ’70,
’74M (MD)
Anne Moore credits the University of Rochester’s distinctive medical education and its biopsychosocial model for shaping the physician she became—curious, compassionate, and deeply attuned to the whole patient.
Anne received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and stayed to attend the School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD). She began to be interested in medicine while doing a research study about health education in schools. With the support of family who urged her to follow her dreams, Anne entered medical school at SMD and eventually selected pediatrics as a specialty. She has had a satisfying career in her chosen field and, nearing retirement, now devotes much of her time to the equestrian program at her property near Denver, Colorado.
Recently Anne joined the Wilson Society in commemoration of her 50th medical school reunion. Now, by including the University in her will to support scholarships at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, she’s ensuring future generations have the same opportunity to learn, grow, and lead with empathy, helping to foster a new wave of dedicated and caring healers.
“It’s my honor and pleasure to participate in giving. I give so tomorrow’s students can have a formative experience that ensures they appreciate the profound connection between body and mind. I find it very meaningful to continue the legacy.” |
